TRIO Kickoff Fashion Show

The three largest performing arts organizations in Arizona – Arizona Opera, Ballet Arizona and The Phoenix Symphony – gathered patrons for an evening of fashion, food and philanthropy at Saks Fifth Avenue on Nov. 8. The evening kicked off table sales for TRIO, an inaugural gala and performance celebration to be held Feb. 8, 2013, at Symphony Hall.

The more than 150 fashion show guests were treated to a runway show of 2013 spring fashions from Zang Toi, jewelry from Tony Duquette, cocktails and music by DJ Rani G. They also had the opportunity to meet Zang Toi and secure a TRIO gala table.

A highlight of the evening included special commitments made to this event: $100,000 by Fred Pakis and $50,000 each by Jacquie Dorrance, Sharron Lewis and Carol Schilling. This brings the total commitment to TRIO to $390,000 toward a $1,150,000 goal.

In addition to gala tables, tickets for the performance-only portion of the TRIO evening went on sale at the fashion show event. Ticket prices for the performance-only portion of TRIO range from $35 to $125, and gala seating begins at $500. All levels of tickets can be purchased at trioevent.org.

At the TRIO gala, Arizona Opera, Ballet Arizona and The Phoenix Symphony will share the stage to present an hour-long performance that will include a new work choreographed by Ib Andersen, combining the talents of the three organizations.

The TRIO steering committee comprises Carol Clemmensen, Molly DeFilippis, Jacquie Dorrance, Nan Howlett, Linda Hunt, Ellen Katz, Sharron Lewis, Pearle Marr, Dionne Najafi, Carol Schilling, Ellie Shapiro, Nancy Spetzler and Daryl Weil.
