Disaster Relief Nonprofit Team Rubicon Receives $100,000 Donation From Tuft & Needle

Team Rubicon disaster relief efforts will now be further supported with Tuft & Needle’s donations.

An organization that provides disaster response relief while simultaneously helping military veterans reintegrate back into civilian life now has an additional $100,000 at its disposal, thanks to a donation made by a Phoenix-based consumer mattress and bedding company.

Tuft & Needle, an affiliate of Serta Simmons, made a $100,000 donation to Team Rubicon this month to help the nonprofit in its efforts to train disaster relief workers and deploy rapid response teams in emergency and disaster situations.  By uniting the skills and experiences of military veterans with those of first responders and medical professionals, Team Rubicon helps communities facing emergencies and disasters recover and rebuild in their aftermath.

“As Tuft & Needle has grown over the years, we have also made it a priority to scale our social mission efforts so we can have an even bigger impact and help more people get a good night’s sleep,” said Melanie LaDue, the Gives Back lead at Tuft & Needle. “We are so excited that our partnership with Team Rubicon has evolved to be able to support their response and rebuilding efforts in areas affected by disasters.”

In addition to helping fund the efforts of Team Rubicon, Tuft & Needle plans to provide mattresses and sleep products to communities facing crises as need arises. The donation money and supplies are the latest in a line of efforts made by Tuft & Needle to help Team Rubicon serve communities in need while helping veterans develop a better sense of purpose, community and identity.

“We are honored and humbled by T&N’s partnership and generous contribution in support of Team Rubicon and our mission,” said Team Rubicon’s Strategic Partnerships Office Brian Meagher. “This proves that you don’t have to be a multi-billion dollar company to make a significant, positive impact on the world. T&N’s contribution will allow us to train more of our volunteers in crucial disaster response skills, respond to more disasters of all sizes, and help more communities stabilize, recover, and rebuild in the aftermath of a disaster.”
