Phoenix Zoo is Now Home to Wallace & Ladmo Memorial Bench

The Phoenix Zoo and the Wallace & Ladmo Foundation unveiled a new, life-size bronze memorial bench depicting the Wallace, Ladmo and Gerald — the characters of the Wallace & Ladmo show, the longest running kids show in Valley history.
“We are thrilled to have this symbol of Arizona history right here at the Phoenix Zoo,” said President and CEO of the Arizona Center for Nature Conservation/ Phoenix Zoo. “The sculpture will be displayed near the Zoo’s main lake, offering a perfect location for guests and fans of the show to reminisce about the iconic characters in a beautiful and unique setting.”
Rita Davenport, president of the Wallace & Ladmo Foundation and former KPHO host said that they chose the Phoenix Zoo as the home for the memorial because it be represented the spirit of the show.
“It’s a multi-generational gathering place that showcases kids and animals – near and dear to us all.  In the end, this was the only place that felt exactly right,” she said.
The memorial was sculpted by Arizona artist Neil Logan.
