Hot Night Gala Brings Brazilian Culture to Phoenix, Boosts the Arts

The Phoenix Art Museum hosted its contemporary Brazilian art-themed Hot Night gala to support art and arts education earlier this month— raising  over $400,000 and bringing the museum’s gala fundraising to nearly $2 million since 2015.

The event featured Brazilian-inspired food from Fogo de Chão, cocktails, live music and dancing, as well as a private look at the museum’s featured exhibition Past/Future/Present: Contemporary Brazilian Art from the Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo.

The exhibit is the first major presentation of artworks from the Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo in the United States with 70 artworks created by nearly 60 artists.

The museum was transformed into a tropical oasis, complete with cabanas and Copacabana-themed décor.
