American Express Promotion to Boost Education Efforts Runs Through End of Week

American Express and Valley of the Sun United Way are teaming up to boost education efforts in the Valley by raising $250,000 through a campaign running through the end of this week.
The effort donates the $3.95 American Express processing fee associated with the purchase of a Valley of the Sun United Way-branded gift card back to the organization, with a maximum of up to $250,000.
Valley of the Sun United Way will utilize these funds to continue their mission of breaking the cycle of poverty in the Valley by supporting several different education initiatives.
“This partnership with American Express will help United Way continue to support training opportunities and provide necessary tools for families and providers to better prepare their children for school,” said Dawn Gerundo, director of education and children. “We appreciate their support so that we can boost efforts to ensure that each and every child is reading by 3rd grade, have access to tutoring and mentoring, learn in high-quality and safe out-of-school time environments, and better train teachers and educators.”
The United Way gift cards benefitting education efforts may be purchased — just in time for the holiday season — online at the following link: https://www311.americanexpress.com/BOLWeb/bolfeOrder.do?request_type=orderProduct&promotion=ACP&program=ACPWEB&selleracctnbr=6430098999I&cc=US&source=UWW_SOCIAL&producttypecd=IA&extlink=us-giftcard-UWW_SOCIAL.
