An Evening of Trends
The Oct. 20 Evening of Trends at the Arizona Biltmore took as its theme “An Evening in Central Park.” Each year the event celebrates women in the community who demonstrate their commitment to the Trends Charitable Fund. This year’s nine Trendsetters are listed below. In addition one Fabulous Phoenician, Laura Grafman, was recognized. Grafman is a trustee of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust and the executive vice president of HonorHealth Foundation.
The Central Park theme was reflected in lobby décor complete with flower carts and a hot dog stand, and in the dining room with autumn leaves incorporated into the table centerpieces. During dinner, the 300-plus guests enjoyed a running video display of previous Trendsetters. The 2017 Trendsetters were presented on the runway, and Grafman spoke eloquently about her commitment to the community. Bill Dougherty, publisher of Trends Magazine, served as the emcee for the evening.
The evening annually supports programs benefiting women, children and their families in need in Maricopa County. This year’s event raised more than $200,000 for Streetlight USA, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation and Family Promise – Greater Phoenix.
