Tempe Center for the Arts Celebrates

The $65 million Tempe Center for the Arts opened to the public in September 2017 and was the result of more than a decade of planning. Since opening its doors, the TCA has hosted hundreds of performances, events and exhibitions.

This year marks the 10th anniversary for the waterfront facility, and on Sept. 8 more than 400 guests turned out to mark the occasion. American Idol winner and Phoenix native Jordin Sparks put the celebration in motion with a concert.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, food, silent auction, pre-concert entertainment and a post-show meet-and-greet with Sparks. The evening also included a preview of the Gallery at TCA’s 10-year anniversary exhibition, “Tempe Xhibition.” The show features creatives and artists who have helped shape the art scene in Tempe. It will be on view through Jan. 6.

Northern Trust presented the evening, which was hosted by Friends of TCA. Cory McClosky, Fox 10 News anchor, served as emcee.
