Afternoon in Prescott Wraps Up Parties of Note Season
Almost 60 Phoenix Symphony guests escaped the 100-plus-degree Phoenix on June 4 to enjoy an afternoon at the family ranch of retired Arizona Senator Steve Pierce and his wife, Joan.
Guests boarded a shuttle from Phoenix, underwritten by Phoenix Symphony supporter Carole Downs.
Surrounded by acres of lush property with breathtaking view in Williamson Valley, guests were treated to canopies of mature shade trees and horses grazing in nearby fields.
The highlight was a concert from the Phoenix Symphony Brass Quintet that included Emery Harvison and Benny Nguyen on trumpets, Cassie Walck on French horn, Chris Wolf on trombone and Chuck Kerrigan on tuba. Among the musical selections were selections from West Side Story, Disney classics and pops favorites such as “Stand By Me” and “The Pink Panther.” The concert ended with “Sweet Caroline.
The party completed the sixth season for the Parties of Note program, which offers the opportunity to spend an evening in an intimate setting with Phoenix Symphony musicians and friends, while enjoying a gourmet meal in some of the Valley’s finest homes. The 2017-2018 Season for Parties of Note will be announced in late-August.
