5th Annual Savor the Symphony Women’s Luncheon
The Jan. 27 Savor the Symphony Women’s Luncheon to benefit The Phoenix Symphony was highly anticipated, selling out in early October. It’s easy to see why: The formula for the successful luncheon includes interaction with a currently popular (and young and good-looking ) male performing group. This fifth annual rendition was no exception as it featured Under the Streetlamp, who feature classic hits from the American Radio Songbook.
As they arrived, the 300 guests were greeted with a signature cocktail created by mixologist Travis Nass. After socializing and bidding in the silent auction, attendees sat in on a rehearsal with Under the Streetlamp and The Phoenix Symphony as they prepared for the weekend performances. The luncheon was served after the rehearsal, with the menu prepared by Adam Sheff, executive chef of the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa.
The live auction featured just three items: a Park City, Utah, getaway, a private dinner for 10 at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa, and a Power Lunch with Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams and Phoenix Fire Chief Kara Kalkbrenner. The Power Lunch sold for $5,000, twice.
For the second consecutive year, Sue Glawe and Karrin Taylor co-chaired Savor the Symphony. Robin Sewell served as emcee. Funds from the event support The Phoenix Symphony’s Music and Education Programming.
