Kidnapping Survivor and Author Jaycee Lee Dugard Keynotes at Teaming Up For Girls
Kidnapping survivor, author and keynote speaker Jaycee Lee Dugard shared her story of resilience and triumph at Florence Crittenton’s 14th Annual Teaming Up For Girls Luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore. Julie Johnston, center back for Team USA and 2015 FIFA World Cup Champion, was honored at the March 10 event with the HOPE (Head start, Opportunity, Positive future and Education) award for her work to empower young girls.
More than 800 attended the luncheon to celebrate Florence Crittenton’s 119 years of service to at-risk girls and young women in the Valley. The luncheon raised in excess of $400,000 that will directly support the agency’s core programs, such as its Therapeutic Group Home, Girls Ranch–Phoenix and Scottsdale, Permanent Supportive Housing and the Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona.
Nina Munson and Chris Anderson co-chaired the event, and Heather Moore was the afternoon’s emcee. BillingTree, the Arizona Lottery, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and the Erekson Family Trust sponsored the luncheon.
