22nd Annual Tribute to Leadership Honors Community Leaders
The Arizona YWCA Metropolitan Phoenix celebrated its 22nd Annual Tribute to Leadership at the new renovated Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch on Feb. 13. The special evening recognized outstanding individuals who have selflessly given of their time and talent to make the community a better place in which to live and work.
MaryLynn Mack and Lauren Bailey, honorary co-chairs, presented awards across a variety of categories and recognized those who have made substantial contributions to eliminating discrimination and empowering women in the community. The six individuals honored have made invaluable contributions in the areas of military, global justice, education, advocacy, racial justice, and health and science. Stacia Naquin, Channel 12, emceed the evening.
“Our individual and corporate honorees show that we can and do change the world. Through their work, this group is building our community’s future and we are honored to recognize their leadership and contributions,” says Regina Edwards, YWCA president and CEO.

The 2016 award recipients were Dana Campbell Saylor, community leader; Susan Berman, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation; Ashley Bridwell, Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center; Tracy Bame, Freeport McMoRan; Jan Blaser-Upchurch, AZ Concerns of Police Survivors; Connie Meza, social justice advocate. In addition to the individual honorees, four corporate honorees were acknowledged: National Bank of Arizona, Blue Cross Blue Shield of AZ, Greenberg Traurig, LLP and Midwestern University.
