‘The Red Violin’ Draws MIM Supporters to Intimate Concert

Fifty enthusiastic Musical Instrument Museum patrons gathered at the Desert Mountain home of MIM board member John D’Addario and his wife, Joan, in north Scottsdale on Nov. 10. The occasion was a fundraiser, Salon Series: Vino with “The Red Violin.

The evening featured Elizabeth Pitcairn, owner of the 1720 Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius violin, the one said to have inspired the film “The Red Violin.” Violinist Pitcairn was accompanied by pianist Olga Gorelik, performing in the intimate setting for the guests.

Funds raised from the evening support activities at MIM such as family weekends, special exhibitions and theater performances at the museum.
