Project Beauty

Feb. 19 was a day “in the pink” for the female guests at Neiman Marcus Scottsdale’s annual Project Beauty – and what wasn’t to like?

The pink palette included the passed champagne and bright pink bags for taking home – stuffed with goodies. The cookies? Shaped like bottles of pink or purple nail polish or pink lipsticks. The pen for taking notes? Shaped like a pink lipstick.

Women gathered for two fun sessions of beauty and skincare presentations. Michelle Kidwell and Jenna Hagen, cosmetics department managers, hosted the event, giving their insiders’ perspectives on their favorite products and tips on how to use them.

Guests walked away with know-how as well as 20-plus samples of products, including a Trish McEvoy Bright and Correct Peel Pad, Kiehl’s Crème de Corps Body Lotion, and a full-size Deborah Lippmann nail polish. None of the women seemed to mind that the samples were distributed by two handsome male models. There also were drawings for gift baskets from various makeup counters, and two women were chosen for makeovers.

Individual makeup counters also offered goodie bags with a minimum purchase.

Top, right, Michelle Kidwell and Jenna Hagen draw names for the many giveaways.
