Christie’s and Walt Danley Realty are hosting a complimentary Jewelry Valuation Day on Thurs., Oct. 1. The event is open to the public, by appointment only.
Leslie Roskind, senior vice president of Christie’s America, based in Los Angeles, is a specialist in appraising jewelry for auction, estate tax and insurance purposes, as well as initiating and promoting private sales.
She was responsible for sourcing and selling several valuable and historic jewels, including the Catherine the Great Emerald and Diamond Brooch which realized $1,650,000. In 2011, Roskind also participated in the sale of the famed jewelry from the Collection of Elizabeth Taylor, which totaled $137.2 million over two days, outperforming its pre-sale estimate by four times. She has been involved in the international jewelry market for 20 years with experience at auction, the retail market and within the trade.
Following the exceptional auction results during the first half of 2015, Roskind will be visiting the Walt Danley Realty office in Paradise Valley to provide valuations and accept jewelry for inclusion in its fall sales.
