DC Ranch Clubhouse
The Design Team, led by PHX Architecture, placed first in Golf Inc.’s Clubhouse of the Year
annual award competition in the Clubhouse Renovation category for the remodel of
the DC Ranch Clubhouse.
Erik Peterson, PHX Architecture principal, along with Michael Nielson, project manager; Beth McGehee, interior designer; and Wespac Constructtion, partnered together to remodel the popular clubhouse. A key design goal was to ensure that the project evoked the same handcrafted richness, warmth and Western style that members were originally drawn to. The interior finishes reflect a well-heeled ranch and, though mostly new, the design elements throughout, including found objects and furnishings, were selected to feel as if they may have been collected over the years by a ranching family. The natural materials of adobe, embossed leather, tumbled brick, aged forged iron, patina copper, reclaimed wood and pierced suede are woven together, paying tasteful respect to the Southwestern heritage.
Golf Inc. is a quarterly publication that covers the latest trends in the development, sales and management of golf courses around the globe.
The architectural firm has also been announced as an Award of Merit Winner in six categories in the 52nd Annual Gold Nugget Award competition. The long-running international competition recognizes those who improve their communities through exceptional concepts in design, planning and development.
Award of Merit winners are the finalists for the Grand Award, which will be announced and presented at the Gold Nugget Ceremony in Sand Diego on June 25.
