Honor Ball Celebrates 40 Years of Community Philanthropy, Honors Laura Grafman
The fun party known as Honor Ball celebrated “40 Fabulous Years” on Feb. 27 at The Phoenician. More than 750 guests attended the fundraiser known for its great entertainment, great food and no silent auctions. In its history, it has raised more than $13 million to support patient and community services at HonorHealth.
The 40th Honor Ball benefits the HonorHealth Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center, which opened 15 years ago as the first major cancer center in greater Phoenix to offer cancer care, treatment, research, diagnosis and support services in a single location.
Laura Grafman, executive vice president of HonorHealth Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, was this year’s honoree. Grafman serves on the Board of Overseers of the Phoenix Symphony, and in 2013 was recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of the state’s Most Admired Leaders. She was recognized at the ball for her more than 30 years of dedication and service to The Honor Ball.
In addition to cocktails and dinner, the evening’s festivities included entertainment and dancing by Impulse, West Coast Music of Beverly Hills.
Susie Muzzy chaired the ball, with Helene Presutti and Nancy Harris Robertson as her vice chairman. White House Design Studio created the beautiful tables and ballroom décor.
