Arizona Humane Society’s Inaugural Golf Tournament
On April 30, 144 of the Valley’s most dedicated pet lovers hit the links at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club to raise funds for the Arizona Humane Society’s homeless pets as part of the inaugural Home-in-One golf tournament to benefit the 15,000 sick, injured and abused homeless pets that AHS cares for each year. The event, sponsored by Ryan Companies, was co-chaired by Jamie Middleton and Susan Yannitelli and emceed by 3TV’s Good Morning Arizona’s Scott Pasmore.
Celebrity golfers included former Arizona Cardinal Patrick Peterson (recently traded to the Minnesota Vikings); retired NBA player, coach and power forward for the Seattle Super Sonics in 1970, Gar Heard; Andre Roberts, Wide Receiver for the Houston Texans; Kyle Fuller of the Denver Broncos; former NFL players, Derek Kennard and Lorenzo Diamond; and AZ-TV’s Brad Perry.
The event which included adoptable kittens, dogs and puppies throughout, a 50/50 raffle, auction items and the chance to win a Lamborghini with a hole in one raised $85,000 for the Arizona Humane Society’s Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ rescue efforts, Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™, intensive care units and spay/neuter initiatives.
