Community Breakfast Kickoff

On February 25, Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) held a kickoff reception for the 17th Annual Community Breakfast to unveil this year’s theme to some of their most active donors and volunteers. The event was hosted by SARRC board member Meighan Harahan at the Scottsdale Waterfront Residences.

Co-chairs for this year’s breakfast, Karen Donmoyer and Dr. Nicholas and Effie Theodore, presented the breakfast theme: “Take the Next Step.” The theme underscores that autism is a lifelong journey that typically begins with careful steps toward finding answers, services and hope.

In partnership with the community, SARRC guides families, one step at a time, to high-quality research, evidence-based services, and the skills to promote independence. Finally, “Take the Next Step” also recognizes how everyone can take a step to create a supportive community and give individuals and families impacted by autism more opportunities to succeed.

SARRC’s 17th Annual Community Breakfast will be held at the Arizona Biltmore on April 24, 2015, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The goal of the breakfast is to raise funds for SARRC’s outreach, education and research programs and inform individuals about autism, which is now the most prevalent children developmental disorder in the United States, affecting one in every 68 children born today.
