Board of Visitors Grants $1 Million

 

The Board of Visitors is distributing more than $1 million in grants to local charities that provide health-care services to women, children and the elderly. The 2014 Board of Visitors grants include a two-year partnership with UMOM New Day Centers in a record-breaking Care Card campaign.

The Board of Visitors recently presented a $482,000 check to UMOM New Day Centers through proceeds raised from Care Card, Leslie Berry, BOV chairman, announced. Another $563,000 was distributed to nonprofits including Circle the City, Dignity Health, Homeward Bound and Horses Help.
