The Board of Visitors, Arizona’s oldest charitable organization, is distributing $820,000 in grants to local charities that provide health-care services to women, children and the elderly. The 2015 BOV grants include a two-year commitment to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in a record-breaking Care Card campaign.

The Board of Visitors recently presented a $230,000 check to Phoenix Children’s Hospital through proceeds raised form Care Card, BOV Chairman Mona Smith says. The funds will benefit the hospital’s Developmental Pediatrics Program.

We see firsthand the overwhelming need for health-care services that are not being met in our community,” says Smith. “Our volunteers work tirelessly to raise funds that aid the most underserved in our community. We are thankful for the donors who support our work.”

The Board of Visitors Care Card program fundraiser benefits charities in the greater Phoenix area through the collaboration of the BOV, sponsors, retailers and shoppers.
