More than 1,400 attend Valle del Sol luncheon to recognize achievements

of Hispanic leaders.

More than 1,400 guests attended the Sept. 11 Valle del Sol fundraising luncheon. The annual Profile of Success event raises money to assist the agency with providing health care, human service and leadership development programs.

Twelve awards were presented during the luncheon. The biggest surprise of the day was the “live” announcement of the Latino Leadership Icon Award being given to Paul Luna, president and CEO of the Helios Education Foundation. The selection was made by public vote.

Sponsors for the occasion included Salt River Project, the premier sponsor; Southwest Airlines, the official airline sponsor; 12 News; and The Arizona Republic.

Mark Bonsall, SRP general manager and CEO, was the honorary chair.

In 2014, Valle del Sol served more than 10,000 individuals and families.
