Diamondbacks Kick Up Some Fun at 10th Annual Evening on the Diamond
The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation celebrated 10 years of giving back on March 31 with its hosted its annual Evening on the Diamond. The event at Chase Field featured a silent auction, dinner and a concert by country music artist Cole Swindell.
The fun evening included some serious giving with the presentation of the inaugural Luis Gonzalez Heart of A Champion Award to Maryvale High School student Luis Gonzalez, who was named after the Diamondback legend Gonzalez. A surprise donation of more than $1 million was presented to 12 finalists for the Ken Kendrick Grand Slam Award. The charity finalists received $50,000 to $100,000 each.
