Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Celebrates $400 Million Invested in the Valley
The Trust, which awards approximately $22 million annually to Maricopa County nonprofits, recently awarded a grant to The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix to strengthen Catholic education, which allowed the organization to reach the $400 million milestone.
“Virginia Piper was deeply spiritual and would be delighted that a $3 million dollar grant to support the new St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Avondale moved the Trust to reach $400 million in grantmaking,” said Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust president and CEO Mary Jane Rynd.
The Trust has provided several grants over the past 18 years, including the Piper Trust Back-to-School Grants and the Piper Fellow Program.
Recent grantees include The Phoenix Symphony, Valley of the Sun United Way, the Arizona State University Foundation and Arizona Town Hall.
“We are so grateful to work in partnership with our nonprofit community. The Trust sincerely thanks the nonprofit leaders and staff for the exceptional contributions they provide every day to enrich quality of life and serve those in need,” Rynd said.
