Arizona Community Foundation Invests Nearly $16 Million in Arizona Programs
The Arizona Community Foundation and its donors will contribute a total of $15,761,526 in grants, scholarships and loan distributions during the second quarter of its fiscal year.
The organization’s priority areas include health innovations, community improvement and development, environment and sustainability, arts and culture and quality education.
A total of $3.9 million was awarded to 482 organizations and programs in health, health care, medical research and human services.
$1.2 million was awarded to 160 community improvement and development programs in the areas of housing, community development, financial literacy training, legal assistance and crime prevention programs.
66 organizations supporting environment and sustainability programs received a total of $429,203. These initiatives include environmental education, renewable resources, conservation, and animal welfare.
$923,928 was awarded to 116 Arizona arts and culture organizations including the Heard Museum and its “Yua: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit” exhibit.
$6.3 million was awarded in scholarships and education-related grants — over $3 million of which was in college scholarships. The funding will also support schools like the Torah Day School, which is expanding its capacity.
