Steak 44 to Open

Jeffrey Mastro, Michael Mastro, Dennis Mastro and Scott Troilo, owners of Dominick’s Steakhouse at Scottsdale Quarter, are bringing their tantalizing steaks and succulent seafood to an old Phoenix landmark north of Camelback on 44th Street.

The 8,421 square-foot space that once housed Cork ‘N Cleaver is being transformed into an upscale urban oasis. It will boast a new bar, glass expo kitchen, intimate dining suites and many dining rooms featuring unique architectural detail.

When guests enter, they will walk through a 3,000-bottle wine vault and then have the option of sitting down in the sunken bar area or in one of the many dining rooms.

Executive Chef Geoff Baumberger says Steak 44’s menu offers a twist on the classic steakhouse menu while reinforcing the idea of a new American steakhouse. Options include prime steaks and chops in various portion sizes, along with an assortment of side dishes and appetizers. Some of those dishes include Denver lamb ribs, braised pork belly, fresh oysters, roasted “duck” potatoes, steakhouse stuffing and potatoes with Schreiner’s Sausage.

Entrée options include petite filet mignon, Delmonico, NY Strip, bone-in filet mignon and bone-in NY strip. A variety of seafood options will also be available.
