introduces new seasonal menus

Gertrude’s, the full-service restaurant at Desert Botanical Garden, has introduced its new seasonal menus for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Introducing his inaugural full-service menus, Executive Chef Matt Taylor says, “Gertrude’s enjoyed a very productive summer and we are excited for the coming season so we can share new flavors with our regular and new customers.”

At home, Chef Taylor often makes smoked pork gumbo for friends and family, but it’s never been on any of his menus. This fall, Gertrude’s is featuring chef’s legendary gumbo paired with his acclaimed horseradish potato salad. In addition to the gumbo, Gertrude’s new menu is packed with favorites like warm cauliflower salad, black pepper spaghetti and 15-hour smoked Niman Ranch prime beef brisket. Bursting with the flavors of fall, the menus boast Brussels sprouts, pomegranate, apple, squash, cauliflower and kale, along with tongue-in-cheek offerings like fried green tomato BLTs and Chef Taylor’s favorite “fried bologna” sandwich.

Gertrude’s offers diners an authentic seasonal experience with top-quality food, libations and service. The restaurant showcases local ingredients from artisans and farmers and herbs and vegetables from its onsite plot. Garden admission is not required to dine at Gertrude’s.
