Diana Krall performs Tues., April 8, 2014, at the Mesa Arts Center as part of the final 10 dates of her adventurous and lauded "Glad Rag Doll World tour."
Diana Krall's Glad Rag Doll World Tour has been a marathon swing around the globe. She has performed 109 shows since October 2012 and received some of the best reviews of her career.
The concerts have featured material from Krall's Glad Rag Doll album, songs mostly learned from her father's collection of early 20th century 78 rpm records.
On opening night of the most recent leg of the tour last fall, the a reporter for the Orange County Register wrote of Krall's risk-taking approach: "She may be mixing things up, but she's exactly where she should be." Of other dates, a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter called Krall's voice “smoldering,” the Seattle Times declared her show “breathtaking” and the St. Louis Post Dispatch called the musician "truly impressive" and the night an "exhilarating show – perhaps the best in St. Louis this year."
