ANDRE KOHN

A new fine art gallery featuring the work of

American figurative impressionist

painter – Andre Kohn – has opened on Main Street

in Scottsdale’s celebrated Arts District.

Andre Kohn Fine Art will feature the oil paintings and giclées of Andre Kohn, whose work appears in leading galleries in the United States and Europe. Kohn is a regular contributor to invitational exhibitions and has been featured in numerous highly regarded art publications.

Kohn’s growing popularity is based on his unique ability to communicate the expressiveness of the human form, and to capture both the complexity and simplicity of movement. "I'm seeking my own unique, poetic interpretation of the moment," he says. "I'm striving to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.”

His professional art education began at age 15 when he was chosen to apprentice in the studios of Moscow's most revered impressionist and social realist artists. Fortunately, his art education corresponded with a virtual eruption of cultural progress in all the arts, including ballet, literature, music and painting. Kohn followed his apprenticeships with a classical art education at the University of Moscow where he studied with members of the last great generation of Russian impressionists. Despite Kohn's unrepeatable pallet, style and unique interpretations of form, his education is enduring. From his home in California, Kohn travels the world for inspiration and periodically journeys to France where he continues his formal, classical studies.

This unique art gallery represents only seven other artists, a sharp departure from typical galleries who may represent as many as 50 or 60 diverse artists. Kohn himself hand-picks which painters and sculptors will be represented by Andre Kohn Fine Art, and his selections are based on talent, skill, subject matter, style and reputation. The three painters represented in the gallery are Andrey Kartashov and Oleg Trofimov of Russia, and Isabelle Delannoy of Paris. The four sculptors include Americans Christopher Schulz, Kira Pandukht, Nikita Young and Linda Prokop.
