‘Awesome’ Architecture Summer Camp
For the seventh year, PHX Architecture is hosting a one-of-a-kind Architecture Summer Camp for students age 13 to 18 who are interested in architecture. High school and college-bound students will be given a fully immersive two-week experience that in the words of a past camper is “Awesome!”
This year’s camp is June 8 through June 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The two-week camp is an excellent opportunity to learn more about a career in architecture, and campers will be introduced to the many aspects of the architectural field by observing and learning from the diverse staff of professionals who make up Team PHX.
The program includes:
>> Career Development
>> Local Architecture Tours
>> Space Planning
>> Land Planning
>> Green Architecture
>> Hand Rendering
>> 3D Modeling
>> Autocad Drafting
>> Project Management
Computers will be provided, or students may use their own, to download the latest 3D software to create a project model with the help of the PHX team. The program also includes lunch each day and tours of Taliesin West, ASU School of Architecture and a project under construction. This comprehensive, hands-on learning experience will expose campers to what they need in order to decide whether this career path is for them.
Past campers have gone on to intern at the firm and/or enrollment in college architecture programs, continuing their goal of becoming an architect.
