Opening Night: Tito Muñoz Conducts Carmina Burana
Celebrate a new chapter in the history of The Phoenix Symphony as Maestro Tito Muñoz makes his debut as The Phoenix Symphony’s 11th Virginia G. Piper Music Director. Join Maestro Muñoz in this powerful program as he leads The Phoenix Symphony, The Phoenix Symphony Chorus and Phoenix Boys Choir in Carl Orff’s majestic and scenic cantata, Carmina burana, featuring the famous “O’Fortuna” movement heard in numerous movie and television commercial scores. This magical program also features Igor Stravinsky’s adventurous Firebird Suite, a masterwork of personal significance to Maestro Muñoz.

BECOME A HEARD MUSEUM TOUR GUIDE

Be the portal through which Heard Museum visitors view its many fascinating exhibits by becoming a qualified member of the Heard Museum’s docents, called Las Guias (or, “The Guides”). The annual training class, after successful completion of which docents may begin giving museum tours, begins Oct. 7 and continues each Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through May 5, 2015. Registration for the required class closes Sept. 17.

The classic tale of the little black dress began in 1926 when Coco Chanel published a picture in American Vogue of a classically elegant, calf length, simple black dress. The crowds went wild.
