‘˜Good Man’ Attracts International Soprano

ARIZONA NATIVE, INTERNATIONAL SOPRANO IN FOUNTAIN HILLS THEATER'S MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION

Fountain Hills Theater’s Mainstage will present You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, the delightful comedy based on the classic Peanuts characters. The play will run June 27 through July 9. The cast features Kathleen Berger, Chad Campbell, Gary Caswell, Ed Como, Jessica Godber and Peter J. Hill.

Native Arizonan Kathleen Berger first appeared at Fountain Hills Theater in 2008 as the Witch in Into the Woods. She has performed on stages throughout Europe and the United States. Born into a family of six children, three of whom are full-time professional musicians, Berger has studied voice, piano and dance since she was a child. After graduating from university, she moved to New York City, where she performed regionally for more than 10 years.

After being cast as Violetta in La Traviata with the touring company Opera 2001, Berger traveled to Spain, which led to the next phase of her musical career. She spent the next several years singing opera recitals and zarzuela in cities all over Spain. In 2011, she married Spanish chef Manuel Garrido, and in 2013, they moved to her childhood home in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Since then, she has performed around the Valley, and continues to perform in Spain, Portugal and Colombia, appearing to critical acclaim as Musetta at the Teatro Municipal de la Velada in Linea de la Concepcion and in the 4,000-seat Palacio de Deportes in Salamanca. Berger is the only American artist to ever perform with the Festival Musicos en la Naturaleza and with the Compania Lirica Dolores Marco in Spain.

This summer, she appears on the Fountain Hills Theater’s Mainstage in both You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.
