Don Pasquale

THIS WEEKEND, OPERA MEETS 1950s HOLLYWOOD FOR THREE PERFORMANCES.

First performed in Paris on January 3, 1843, Don Pasquale is an opera in three acts, with a libretto written in collaboration by Gaetano Donizetti and Giacomo Ruffini, based upon an earlier work by Angelo Anelli, “Ser Marc’ Antonio.”

This intimate new production sets the funny comedy in 1950s Hollywood where the inappropriate romantic overtures of a penny-pinching, former silent film actor Don Pasquale are thwarted by Norina.

Los Angeles Opera favorite, bass-baritone Craig Colclough takes the title role in this comedy. The show also features Andrea Shokery as Norina, David Margulis as Ernesto, Chris Carr as Malatest and Calvin Griffin as the Notary.
