Act One Appoints New Leader

 

Geri Wright takes the helm at 

Act One Foundation

 

Geri Wright has taken the helm at Act One Foundation as executive director. Since 2011, Act One has engaged students from Title 1 schools in educational arts experiences and managed the Act One Culture Pass, which offers library cardholders complimentary admission or tickets to arts and culture venues.

With more than 20 years’ nonprofit experience, Wright has led the fundraising programs for several nonprofit organizations including the American Red Cross Greater Phoenix, the Heard Museum and most recently Arizona Theatre Company. Wright serves on the board of Camelot Therapeutic Horsemanship and is a graduate of Valley Leadership Class 34 and of the American Express Nonprofit Leadership Academy. She received the Outstanding Fundraising Executive honor from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Arizona Chapter in 2013.

Act One provides educational field trips that support classroom studies for students from Title 1 schools and has served more than 75,000 students and their teachers since 2011. Act One Culture Pass partners total 28 arts venues and 44 libraries that participate in the program statewide.
