When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness it affects the entire family; creates fear, isolation and requires extensive care. This lifestyle creates a barrier between the family and their need for independence. Many times seriously ill children are robbed of a typical childhood and won’t get to attend social activities like a sleepover or a school dance. TheA medical risk is often too high and burdensome for others.
Camp Soaring Eagle is a place that allows these kids to find acceptance and joy with others similar to them without worrying about their illness. The nonprofit organization provides camp programs with medically supervised staff available to handle the medical needs of the little campers and lets the kids, be kids.
