Casa Brazil’s 17th Annual Luncheon
Casa Brazil hosted its 17th annual luncheon at Vincent on Camelback to assist needy and underprivileged children of Brazil.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Casa Brazil distributed hot meals and food baskets to communities in need such as Semeador, Vidanca and CADI, as well as other communities in Brazil that have experienced great difficulties including Cidade de Deus (City of God), one of the most notorious favelas in Rio de Janeiro.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Casa Brazil has donated 6,500 food baskets. In addition, the nonprofit continued to provide daily meals to children and their families during school closures. A total of 2,000 meals a month are provided.
Casa Brazil’s number one priority has always been to assist children in need. While the focus has always been in Brazil, the struggles Lebanon had to face during the explosions that took place in Beirut touched them tremendously. Thousands of children were displaced, injured and traumatized by this tragedy. Casa Brazil joined forces with Himaya, a non-governmental organization based in Lebanon, and was able to raise $5,000 to assist Himaya in its mission to make a difference in the lives of Lebanese children.
