A Lesson in Kindness

BB Logo1Ben’s Bells Kindness in Action Speaker Series brings to Arizona powerful speakers who are leaders in the Science of Kindness field. Part education, part entertainment, pure inspiration, these events are made possible by the generous support of local businesses and community members. Audience members will enjoy relaxed evenings with experts offering profound insights and lively discussion. All proceeds support Ben’s Bells community programming.
The Kindness in Action Speaker Series is kicking off in Tucson and Phoenix with Why Kindness Begins with Emotional Hygiene, featuring author and TED speaker Guy Winch.
We learn as children that that we need to attend to our physical aches and pains – we see a doctor when we break bone or need stitches to help heal. Yet according to top psychologist Guy Winch, all too often adults neglect to ask for help with our emotional pain. From loneliness to guilt to loss, it is too easy for us to believe that we must cope with common psychological health issues by ourselves. But, as Winch argues, we don’t have to deal with things alone. Instead, we can practice emotional hygiene, when we learn to identify and manage our minds and our emotions with as much attention and care as we give our physical bodies.
