‘Walk With Me’ Family Event To Benefit Children With Disabilities

Southwest Human Development, Arizona’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to early childhood development, will host the ninth annual Walk With Me family fun walk and block party, presented by the Arizona Coyotes Foundation, to benefit the nonprofit’s Easterseals services for young children with disabilities.
The event will be held Saturday, February 25, from 7 to 10:30 a.m., at Scottsdale Civic Center Park located at 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. in Scottsdale.
“Walk With Me is such a fun event for families and a great way for our community to interact with one another,” said Devan Vollmert, special events coordinator at Southwest Human Development. “This yearly event really allows us to focus on children with disabilities and their families, increase awareness of services that can help children with disabilities reach their fullest potential, and help raise much-needed funding to keep those important services running.”
Southwest Human Development’s goal this year is to raise $200,000 to help Arizona’s children at a time in their lives when intervention can make the biggest difference – ages birth to 5. More than 1,500 people join Walk With Me each year. In 2016, the event raised more than $185,000 for the early childhood nonprofit.
Southwest Human Development’s 900 staff members provide 40 innovative programs and services to 135,000 children and their families each year.
