Nearly 500 Gather for Annual Luncheon to Benefit the Homeless
Nearly 500 women gathered at the Arizona Biltmore last month for the annual Old Bags Luncheon, raising money for Homeward Bound through a silent handbag auction and paddle raise.
The event included time to mingle, admire designer handbags, enjoy lunch and a Neiman Marcus runway show, all to help homeless families in the Valley.
Homeward Bound has served thousands of homeless men, women and children since it was founded in 1990 — providing housing and programming to help families become stable and financially independent.
in 2016, 80 percent of those served earned a steady income and 69 perecent graduated the program and moved into permanent housing.
Michelle Schechner and Missy Turner served as the event co-chairs.
