McDonald Named Chief Operating Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix’s CEO Marcia Mintz announced that Bridget McDonald has been named Chief Operating Officer for the organization, effective immediately.

In this newly created role, McDonald will be focused on the growth of programs, training and new initiatives across the organization.

“We are thrilled to appoint Bridget to this new position. The scale and scope of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix, with 13 Clubs across the 5 cities, serving more than 11,000 youth every day, requires a dedicated COO who can lead our talented team to new heights. Bridget’s worked at every level of this organization and is ready to help expand our reach and impact on the Valley’s most deserving youth,” said Mintz.

“I am both honored and humbled to continue serving this amazing organization in a new capacity,” said McDonald. “Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix plays an integral role in the lives of thousands of youth and families. Our mission, combined with new strategic initiatives, offer the opportunity to enhance services, expand collaborative efforts, and realize our goal of being the premier out-of-school-time program. Our team is one of the most committed in the Valley to supporting our community, and I am proud to be a part of this movement.”

Since joining Boys & Girls Clubs in 2016, Mintz has been working on a new strategic plan for the 70-year-old organization to increase their impact and grow the organization.  Expanding the executive leadership team with a new chief operating officer will allow program directors to focus on Club operations and implementation of the award-winning programs offered to families.

McDonald brings extensive management and leadership experience to her new role.  For nearly three decades, she’s moved up through the organization serving as branch manager, area director, director of operations and most recently vice president of operations.  Her career’s impact has spanned outside the Valley.  McDonald earned her master trainer certification with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has trained teams across the nation and even travelled to Germany to share her talents.

McDonald holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Northern Iowa, and a master’s degree from University of Phoenix in adult education and training.  She is a longtime member of The Professional Association and the Chair for the Training and Professional Development Advisory Committee for the Pacific Region for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
