New AZ Hall-of-Famers: Gin Blossoms, Nils Lofgren, Celebrity Theatre & Meat Puppets

The Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame will induct The Meat Puppets, Gin Blossoms, Nils Lofgren and Celebrity Theatre at a ceremony on Thursday, August 17 at Celebrity Theatre.
All three artists being honored will perform, making it the first time all three Arizona artists have performed on the same stage, on the same night.
The Celebrity Theatre, also being honored, has been a part of Arizona’s emerging music scene since its opening in 1964.
“This is the most historic venue in the Valley, where thousands of the best shows ever to tour have played. This recognition is so deserved, and I am so proud to be the most active promoter in this great place,” said Danny Zelisko, promoter and owner of Danny Zelisko Presents.
“It seems only fitting that we hold our induction ceremony at this historic venue,” Mark Myers, president of Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame, said of Celebrity Theatre.
“The theatre has a soul, a wonderful place to experience the intimate connection between the artist and the audience,” said Celebrity Theatre’s owner, Rich Hazelwood.
Since 2002, the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame, a nonprofit organization created to recognize and honor musicians, entertainers and individuals who have impacted Arizona’s culture and history, has honored over 80 artists.
