Nash Foundation Supports Early Childhood Education with $10,000 Matching Challenge
Steve Nash’s Foundation will donate up to $10,000 to Educare Arizona, which provides quality early childhood care and education to children in need, through a matching challenge.
The foundation is celebrating the 10th Steve Nash Foundation Showdown event on June 21 in New York City, but is making its impact felt locally by supporting Educare Arizona. The Steve Nash Foundation has been a supporter of the important program in the past.
“The work that Educare Arizona is doing, both for the kids and families it serves and for awareness around and training in early childhood education is important and inspiring,” Nash said. “It’s critical that we support children early in life so that they have a better chance of success in the future. I’m proud of my Foundation’s work with Educare Arizona, and I encourage everyone to join us in supporting this great cause.”
The foundation will match contributions $13 or more, through the Foundation to Educare Arizona between June 1 and June 15. Those who donate will be eligible to win signed Steve Nash memorabilia — five winners will receive an autographed Phoenix Suns Steve Nash MVP photo and a soccer ball. The Phoenix Suns are providing memorabilia as well.
Proceeds will help Educare Arizona continue its mission to help children from families struggling with poverty to have a greater chance for success with a full-day, year-round pre-school program for children up to five-years-old. This program has demonstrated its ability to narrow the achievement gap and help at-risk children become healthier and more prepared for further education.

The Steve Nash Foundation Showdown is an innovative soccer match featuring NBA stars and soccer pros from around the world. Proceeds from the event are donated to charities the foundation supports, which provide critical needs services for kids.
