“The Most of” Lit Lounge

Most-of-Lit-Lounge_performerPicsThe Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is taking over the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts to bring you more of the wildly popular Story-Performing series Lit Lounge with “The Most Of” Lit Lounge on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
Lit Lounge is a little bit This American Life and a little bit rock-n-roll. A series where the most engaging writers and performers in Arizona—and the nation—share their funny, compelling and true stories fused together by kicky, live music. Each 8-minute story is like a one-person show with the band creating a musical score for their lives. The merging of live music and story-performing elevates both genres.
Since its inception one year ago, Lit Lounge has been selling out its 100-seat venue (SMoCA Lounge) in record time. So, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts invited Lit Lounge to take over the 853-seat theater for ONE NIGHT ONLY.
This little-but-mighty-literary series has been compared to an evening with David Sedaris, a night at The Moth in New York, and listening to This American Life on Sunday afternoon.
“The Most of” Lit Lounge will feature Comedy Central Stage performer Shaz Bennett, Best-selling author Jen Sincero, Stephen Colbert guest Joe Smith, The Moth (New York Story Slam Winner) Molly McCloy, KJZZ commentator Robert Pela , Award-winning author Hillary Carlip + More! Musical guests include Arizona favorites Where Are All the Buffalo and Doug Bale!
