57th Annual Heart Ball a Pretty-in-Pink Affair
The 57th Annual Phoenix Heart Ball was awash in pink Saturday evening, Nov. 19 at The Phoenician. Chair Jennifer Carmer chose “Hearts in Rhythm” as her theme and pink, accented with animal print and a touch of shimmer, as her color. Women among the guests honored her choices, wearing evening gowns that included a sprinkling of animal print, tones of silver and every shade of pink imaginable.
After a lively cocktail hour, guests moved to the ballroom where the dance floor was filled before, during and after dinner as the band Soul Survivors kept them on their feet. Dennis Thompson of White House Design Studio created the décor, with silvery trees projected onto fuchsia-lighted walls and tables topped with silver cloths and arrangements of pink roses and white hydrangeas.
Marilyn and David Alexander served as honorary chairmen, and Nan Howlett was this year’s Sweetheart. The executive team consisted of Carolyn Jackson and Kristine Thompson, along with Char Hubble, chairman-elect.
The black-tie affair was officially sold-out, with funds raised benefiting research and education programs of the American Heart Association.
