Veterans Day only comes around once a year and it’s a great opportunity to show appreciation for all those who have served in the military — and what better way to show appreciation for someone than with food? What’s why we put together a list of the top five dining deals for veterans to take advantage of on November 11 and no we won’t judge if you visit all five spots.
1. Camp Social
Camp Social is one of Phoenix’s newest restaurants and is getting a lot of attention for its fun, summer camp-themed atmosphere. Veterans, military personnel and first responders can enjoy 20 percent off their bill all day long.
2. Salty Sow
Salty Sow is an American gastropub with a farm-to-table menu and a rustic atmosphere. It’s offering retired and active military members 15 percent off their meal, excluding alcohol, beginning at 4 p.m. with proper military identification.
3. Roaring Fork
Roaring Fork provides an Old West feel with menu items like tortilla soup, lamb chop fondue, burgers and bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. The restaurant is giving retired and active military members 15 percent off their meal, excluding alcohol, beginning at 4 p.m. with proper military identification.
4. Zappone’s Italian Bistro
Zappone’s is an authentic, neighborhood Italian restaurant that’s offering veterans their choice of a variety of entrees including chicken parmesan, chianti braised beef, rigatoni al forno and lasagna from 3 to 9 p.m.
5. Fired Pie
Fired Pie, the counter-service build-your-own-pizza spot is offering a free entrée — a pizza or salad — to all veterans who show their ID or come to one of their 16 locations in uniform.
