ONE Names 2017 Nonprofit Director of the Year Award Recipients

Karen Jayne, CEO of Stardust Non-Profit Building Supplies; Doug Carter, CEO of UPWARD for children and families, and Joyce Millard Hoie, Executive Director of Raising Special Kids were named recipients of ‘Director of the Year’ award by The Organization for Nonprofit Executives (ONE).
Honorees are in the management and leadership of nonprofit organizations in Maricopa County who embody the principles and values of ONE. Karen Jayne was honored with the Community Partnership award for her work with RE:use Market Partnership, which works to eliminate waste by preventing useful items, like furniture, from going to landfills. Doug Carter was awarded the Organizational Accomplishment and Innovation Award for his work in mending the financial crisis he inherited as CEO of UPWARD for children and families. Joyce Millard Hole received the Leader of Distinction Award for her work as an advocate for parents and children through Raising Special Kids.
Recipients of the award were honored at the 15th Annual Nonprofit ‘Director of the Year’ Awards on March 29 at the Desert Willow Conference Center. Winners were presented with awards, which were pieces of custom artwork, by ONE President Amy Runyon and event sponsor, Dr. Susan Kenny Stevens of the Nonprofit Lifecycles Institute. Joe Dana of 12 News served as the Master of Ceremonies and Susan M. Pepin, M.D. of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust gave the keynote address.
