Z’Tejas Cornbread Campaign Raises $140K for Charities

Who knew that something as simple as cornbread could have such a considerable impact? The team at Z’Tejas, apparently, who collected more than $140,000 for local charities since launching its Cornbread for a Cause campaign in December, 2015. Its current Cornbread campaign is wrapping up at the end of the month.

Last year, the campaign garnered thousands of dollars for a variety of deserving causes, with the money raised helping Arizona’s military families, residents battling cancer and rescued pets, among other recipients. The Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation was also among recent beneficiaries, with the campaign securing more than $17,000 for the organization that works to ensure that all Arizona children have access to premium-quality medical care, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

The current Cornbread for a Cause campaign, which runs through Friday, March 31, will raise funds for The Pat Tillman Foundation, which provides academic scholarships for military veterans and their spouses and carries on the legacy of the former football player-turned fallen military hero.

“It’s incredible to see what a dramatic impact such a simple thing can have on the community,” said Gary Manley, General Partner at Z’Tejas Restaurants. “We are committed to serving the Phoenix community and are proud that we have been able to partner with such worthy organizations and are so thankful to our customers who have helped contribute and make a difference for these local non-profits.”
