Four Valley Teens Recognized for Community Leadership
The Girls Rule Foundation has awarded four Arizona teens with Brilliant, Beautiful and Bold Role Model Awards, mentorship opportunities and $500 for their community leadership.
Recipients included Aleena Valdez, Lainie Camou, Grace Johnson and Macy Velky. The award winners were chosen from 44 statewide nominees who were nominated by teachers, community leaders, counselors, principals and parents for their ability to make a difference in their schools or communities.
The recipients range from high school to college freshman, all sharing an ability to face adversity, solve problems and a willingness to change the world.
“I am so proud of every nominee and our four new winners this year,” says Dena Patton, CEO and co-founder of Girls Rule Foundation. “These young ladies are exceptional role models and Girls Rule Foundation is thrilled to be able to be a platform that will help them become the next generation of leaders.”
Each winner received $500 to further her dream, a prize basket worth $300, a year of leadership coaching from Girls Rule mentors Laurie Sliva and Lori Severson and many extraordinary opportunities throughout the coming year.
