What Sets the Desert Ball apart?

The Desert Foundation Auxiliary selects and presents to the community young ladies from the Scottsdale area at the Desert Ball in December. Proceeds from this year’s Desert Ball will benefit Feeding Matters, Rosie’s House and Treasure House.
Thoughts on what sets the Desert Ball apart after 50 years of events…The current President of Desert Foundation Auxiliary Laura Currier states “I think what sets us apart is the fact that our debutantes are freshman in college and our Ball is in December. It’s a new stage of life for them. They are coming home for Christmas break. They are happy to see family and are reconnecting with friends. It is a reunion of sorts. So much fun!”
Since we are a multi-generational organization we wanted to share a three-generation story…Ann Quirk is currently an Associate Member who joined DFA in 1983, her daughter Maggie Argue was a Debutante in 1986 and joined DFA in 2015, her daughter Molly was a Debutante in 2011, and her daughter Olivia was a Debutante in 2014.
“Looking back on my DFA memories of the past 30 years, I continue to be extremely proud and impressed by the organization’s devotion to our traditions and our ability to present a truly outstanding ball unique to our community.” -Ann Quirk
“I so admire the continuity that is inspired between the generations of the Desert Foundation Auxiliary. It is with great love and pride that I see my mother and daughters join together in the connection we share in the DFA. The kind, charismatic and generous-spirited women are what make this organization so special.” -Maggie Argue
“DFA is uniquely special because the ball is held in December. Returning home at the end of the first semester of college to celebrate with friends and family during the holiday season makes for a spectacular memory. In the spirit of giving, this magical evening helps to support numerous charities within our community.” -Molly and Olivia Argue
