Ten Star Chapter
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Arizona has once again been named a Ten Star Chapter for 2012.
Every year, AFP, the largest association of professional fundraisers in the world, honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy. Of the 231 chapters in AFP, 112 chapters received the Ten Star Award for 2012.
“We’re thrilled to receive the AFP Ten Star Award again this year,” says AFP Greater Arizona Chapter President, Anne C. White, Ph.D., CFRE. “While there are several standard goals that each chapter must achieve, we have really focused on identifying and meeting the ever-increasing needs of our 300+ non-profit member organizations with a variety of educational, training, and networking programs.”
“I want to congratulate the AFP Greater Arizona Chapter, which is playing a key role in the Greater Phoenix area, in promoting ethical and effective fundraising, and educating the public about the importance of philanthropy and wise giving,” said Andrew Watt, FInstF, President and CEO of AFP. “Our Ten Star Chapters have demonstrated outstanding programming and leadership in fundraising, and I’m pleased to recognize their tremendous efforts.”
Criteria for the Ten Star award are determined by AFP International in Washington, D.C. A list of several goals is published annually, and chapters must accomplish ten of these goals during the year and submit a nomination form for verification to be honored.
