In the Bag: Waterproof Basics
This week’s rainy weather has reminded me of the importance of humidity- (and water-) proof makeup. To ensure your makeup stays flawless through spring showers and stickiness come summer, here are products you will need to stay fresh:
To keep lashes long and luscious, try Chanel Inimitable Waterproof mascara (top right). The formula delivers volume, length and curl all day without smudging and can withstand everything from a rainstorm to summer humidity.
To set your makeup for a long day (and to keep away shine), lightly dust on Laura Mercier Invisible Loose setting powder over your foundation and blush. The light-reflecting silica powder keeps makeup looking matte and even minimizes fine lines and blemishes – which is always a plus.
To prep hair for an unpredictable day, try Kiehl’s Deeply Restorative Hair Oil (top left). A few light sprays from root to tip (or you can spray on your hair brush then work into hair) help tame fly-a-ways and keep curls smooth and defined.
On extra-humid days, I suggest going with a liquid blush – this will allow for longer staying power. Try Armani Beauty Limited Edition Blushing Fabric (top middle). The cushiony formula glides on smoothly, and you can build on color easily. Most importantly, color will last all day – rain or shine.
